TOPE SHARK

(also called School, Soupfin or Snapper) 

(Galeorhinus galeus)

A hound shark of the family Triakidae, the only member of the genus Galeorhinus, found worldwide in subtropical seas at depths of up to 550 meters (1,800 ft). It grows to 2 meters (6 ft 7 in) long.

VIPER FISH

Genus Chauliodus.  Okay, it's not a shark.  But it's cool, right?  A saltwater fish with long, needle-like teeth and hinged lower jaws, the viper fish grows to 12-14" long.  A fierce predator in the very deep part of the sea, believed to attack its prey by luring the victum close with a light-producing organ.

WHITE TIP, OCEANIC SHARK JAWS

 (Carcharhinus limbatus)

A  large pelagic shark inhabiting tropical and warm temperate seas. Its stocky body is most notable for its long, white-tipped, rounded fins. This aggressive but slow-moving fish dominates feeding frenzies, and is a danger to shipwreck or air crash survivors.

 WOBBEGONG Shark Jaw

(Orectolobus japonicus)

Commonly called a carpet shark with its camouflage pattern, found in shallow temperate and warmer waters.  These bottom dwellers reach a maximum of 4 ft and are usually not dangerous to human unless stepped on, caught off guard or provoked.  "Wobbegong" means "shaggy beard" in the Aboriginal language.  Specimens come from as far south as Australia, as far north as Japan.

Unusual because the front teeth are sharp to catch shrimp, the back teeth are grinders to chew; rows of teeth so perfect and tiny, so MANY rows.  A wonder to behold.

The zebra shark is sometimes called the leopard shark and the only member of the Stegostoma family, and are nocturnal.
